researchED New Zealand is a full-day professional learning event hosted at Long Bay College, bringing together teachers, school leaders, and researchers for a focused day of evidence-informed discussion and practice.
The programme is carefully structured to balance keynote addresses, breakout sessions, and opportunities for conversation and reflection. Please feel welcome to review the session times in the link below.
Arrival and registration
Registration opens from 8:00 am in the Long Bay College Gymnasium foyer and courtyard. A coffee cart will be available on arrival. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to collect materials, orient themselves using the site map, and move comfortably to the opening session.
Opening and keynote sessions
The day formally begins at 9:00 am with welcomes and introductions in the Gymnasium, followed by the opening keynote at 9:15 am. Keynote sessions are scheduled at key points in the day and are held in the Gymnasium.
Breakout sessions
Across the day, attendees will take part in three breakout session blocks. Each block offers four concurrent sessions held in clearly signposted venues across the college. These sessions run:
- Mid morning from 10:20 am
- Late morning from 11:40 am
- Early afternoon from 2:15 pm
Session venues and walking routes are shown on the site map, and volunteers will be available to assist with wayfinding between sessions.
Please note that attendance of breakouts isn’t ticketed, venues will close when they reach seated capacity.
Morning tea and lunch
Morning tea is scheduled from 11:05 am to 11:40 am, and lunch from 1:20 pm to 2:15 pm. Both breaks take place in designated hospitality spaces around the college, with food trucks available at lunch. These longer breaks are designed to give attendees time to rest, connect with colleagues, and move between venues without pressure. In the event of rain, please see the wet weather provision on the map of the school site.
Panel discussion and close
The day concludes with a Q and A panel from 3:10 pm to 3:45 pm, followed by a brief farewell at 3:45 pm in the Gymnasium. The event finishes promptly at 3:50 pm.
Navigating the site
A detailed map is provided in the link below showing session venues, hospitality spaces, parking, and accessible routes. Clear signage and student helpers will be present throughout the day to support smooth movement around the site.
